sn47.21:1.2 At one time the venerables Ānanda and Bhadda were staying near Pāṭaliputta, in the Chicken Monastery.
sn47.21:1.3 Then in the late afternoon, Venerable Bhadda came out of retreat, went to Venerable Ānanda, and exchanged greetings with him.
sn47.21:1.4 When the greetings and polite conversation were over, he sat down to one side and said to Ānanda:
sn47.21:1.5 “Reverend Ānanda, the Buddha has spoken of skillful ethics. What’s their purpose?”
