Na ve aggi cetayati,
Sungguh, api tidak berpikir,
Though a fire doesn’t think,

ahaṁ bālaṁ ḍahāmīti;
‘Aku akan membakar si bodoh!’
‘I’ll burn the fool!’

Bālova jalitaṁ aggiṁ,
Namun si bodoh yang menyerang
Still the fool who attacks

āsajja naṁ paḍayhati.
api yang menyala, dialah yang terbakar.
the fire gets burnt.
